Rohde Nielsen has recently completed a small port development project in the port of Mukran in Rügen, Germany, for the client Deutsch Dänische Wasserbau Gmbh.
The reclamation work comprised dredging 25.789 m3 of fine and compacted sand in the turning circle in the harbor, where the sand afterward was transported to a finger-pier.
The hopper dredger, Ask R, was connected to a pipeline mounted on a pontoon with a crawler in order to pump the sand controlled into the pier area. The compacted sand made the dredging work more difficult, but Ask R completed the project in only 4 days.
Rohde Nielsen offers a wide range of hopper dredgers and grab dredgers. Click on the link and read more about the Rohde Nielsen fleet: Hopper Dredgers and Grab Dredgers
